Choose your own Adventure!

We’ve booked a nice hotel for two nights, and on top of that my darling surprised me and booked us into a very swanky restaurant last night in celebration of the next chapter of our lives.  It was a gourmet treat to have such fine food after eating total crap on the tractor (Mike’s diet in particular was a bit shocking!) so we we’re loving it.

The place is called Friends, and if you get the chance (and have a few hundred dollars to spend); while in Perth you should definitely eat there.  They wear white gloves when they serve you!  It felt like we were suddenly the king and queen of Eneabba.  We were eventually transported back to paupers when we got the bill. haha…

These are some older photographs that haven’t seen the light of day…

Anyway, it’s been a really nice first day.  I’ve spent my time walking, job hunting, people watching and done a bit of shopping to replace clothing that really needed chucking out.  For some reason my sheep crap stained jeans and shirts were all looking a little tired…and I felt it was socially probably unacceptable to prance about in them.

Well, I’ll tell you what…  as I was enjoying the lovely sunshine I noticed three young boys walking beside me, cussing and being little loud mouths.  They were giggling and I knew something was up.  Suddenly the cockiest of them quickly walked ahead of me and dropped his pants.

He mooned me in broad day light in the middle of the street.  I was so embarrassed, and also amused (I tried not to laugh).  I kept walking, and eventually crossed the street thinking I was in the clear.

The boys returned.  Damn it!

I was witness to another moon and this time there were people around.  The kid had no shame.  I must admit it was funny, but really bizarre.  They must have been 11 or 12 and just for the record these were little white kids.

Why must these things happen to me!!???

  1. Because kids are untouchable these days and perhaps Australian boys are just plain rude. Although I remember driving behind a school bus once and being mooned a few times by teenage boys. I remained totally impassive to not give them the satisfaction. Other than that, what is that creature on top there?

    • Hi Judy! Boys will be boys…I did the same (ignored it). As for the first creature…it’s a lovely little bobtail. Or “blue tongue lizard” they apparently give birth to live offspring who are 1/3 thier body weight. Apparently in a comparrison a human would be carrying around a 5 year old in thier womb. They are very slow moving and easy to pick up.

  2. Really interesting flora and fauna you have. Thanks for the info. We do not dare to pick up our Gila Monsters here – they have a wicked, gripping bite and very poisonous and they are rather large, too, about 18 to 24 inches long. I have no idea about their offspring.
