THE PRINT WINNERS!

And the winners of the limited edition photograph are…Kerry Thacker Verla M Rouble.

Here are a couple of images from that day that I’ve not posted before.  These horses were just up the road from the sheep property.  And although the purple looks pretty…it’s actually an invasive weed called Paterson’s Curse.

Horses.

I’ve added a few more images of Romy from our little hangout yesterday (in the post below).  I was able to snap some shots as a few of us got together for a chat and some horse riding.

Having not been on a horse since I was about 20.  I felt confident enough until I accidentally had my horse break into a canter.  Which was a bit of chaos.  My right foot came out of the stirrups and I thought the jig was up for me! ahhaha….Luckily I was able to slow her down and we started a slower more relaxed pace.

On the way home I spotted an owl on a fence up our driveway.  Which sat still for me as I observed it for about 10 minutes.  I was very close and could see all of the dark flecks on her white feathers.  It was something else!  I felt like such a lucky person to be given the chance to sit so close to a wild owl (the first I’ve seen in Australia).

No photo, just an incredible memory.

I’ll be picking the winners of the print this evening…I’ve devised an ingenious way of randomly selecting the winner. hahah, you’ll see when I post the winners tonight!

Where the heck have I been?  I’ve just noticed there are 543 people following along here.

I’m curious:  Who are you all?  Where are you from?  What brought you here?  Tell me about yourself!

These are horses down the road from this farm.  I climbed through the barbed wire and took a few quick photos.

When Mike came over he said: “They remind me of what being free is.  When they are running together they look wild.”

I agreed.

It is quite powerful to watch horses run.  They spooked a few times and the thundering of their hooves, ripples of muscle, together with their manes blowing in the wind was really something to see.

These horses don’t often see people, and so I was surprised they even stuck around.  Their natural sense of curiosity kept them with us while I took these photos.
